The Strategic Planning at MerSETA is organized into three operating units: Strategy Unit, Research Unit, and Projects Development Unit1. These units are responsible for the participatory development of the merSETA’s Annual Performance Plan, Sector Skills Plan, and Strategic Plan.
The approach includes enterprise-wide support for linking monitoring, evaluation, and research to strategy; systematic creation of new ideas and research outcomes in line with the merSETA strategy; dissemination of research and project outcomes within a knowledge management framework; development of merSETA’s competence using challenging and applied research projects; a futures-oriented approach to addressing challenges; and building internal and external capacity for monitoring, evaluation, and research.
The vision for Strategic Planning at MerSETA is to provide the basis for evidence-based, and demand-led, Innovation and development, supported by a systemic monitoring and evaluation framework for the Post 2015 skills development agenda in the merSETA sector.
