Discretionary Grant Media Statement – Feb 2024

Grant Media Statement Release regarding the opening of applications for merSETA’s Discretionary Grants for the 2024/25 financial year.

The grants aim to empower the workforce, enhance industries, and uplift communities by addressing the skills gap, driving innovation, and promoting sustainable development. Key focus areas include:

  • Professional development for engineering graduates,
  • Work-integrated learning for students,
  • Youth entrepreneurship,
  • Green skills programs.

The grants are available to a wide range of stakeholders, including employers, community organizations, cooperatives, trade unions, educational institutions, and skills development providers. Applications must be submitted through the National Skills Development Management System by February 29, 2024​
